Wicked!
Wicked is coming to Melbourne next year!! My daughter will be extatic! She knows I'm planning to see it when I'm in NYC in August and has been pea-green. (Elphaba green even ;~) ) I can't wait to tell her when she gets home; she will seriously squeeeee. :~D

Are you going anywhere besides Toronto or New York on your trip? I'd love a chance to meet you. Toronto is only a few hours away from here so an afternoon or evening may be possible if you have the time.

I’m not looking forward to when they will start to want to go to concerts with their friends. And Chris will be 13 in a few weeks and he wants a cell phone. *shakes head* I don’t even pay for the one I have, my dad does. And my husband’s is paid for by his work. I don’t know if we are ready for him to have a phone of his own yet. He can’t even keep his room clean. I can just see him losing it in the first week.

And, yes, I'm afraid I've accepted it as the standard Yr7 accessory. ALL their friends have one. My 16yo son and 12yo daughter both have pre-paid phones - we bought them the phones and THEY have to pay for the usage. Currently they both have no credit, but I can at least ring them if necessary. ;~)
It costs us the best part of $100 for the whole family to go to the cinema. I really used to love going - it was my favourite past time - but I think I must be turning into a 'grumpy old lady' cos I get so irritated by everything there now! Specially the folks I have to share the experience with; slurping their drinks, talking etc etc. I just have no tolerance for it any more; I'd rather wait and watch most movies on DVD at home! Of course, there ARE exceptions like Harry Potter! ;~)
