Ron the Beater?

http://gallery.the-leaky-cauldron.org/picture/211218

Looks like Ron (and Ginny?) are going to be Beaters in the Quidditch team for the movie.  O.o

ETA:  maybe not; these uniforms look like the ones in CoS, so it might be Fred and George.

ETA2: definitely Fred and George.  ;~)

Oh, no! But, but ...

Kimmy pointed out that it might actually be Fred and George, and, on second thoughts, the uniforms do look like they did in the first 2 films...

You know, it's movie changes like that which I never understand.
Ok MAYBE for editing and time the drop the whole tryouts thing and such, but why can't Ron stay Goalie (yes shush I've forgotten the HP term. I suck). Same with James magically becoming a Seeker.

Seriously the feel good moment was worth the canon loss, it was a contrived feel good moment *sigh*

. . . and persnality wise I just don't see Ron as a Beater. Ginny yesh, but Ron's personaloty fits keeper (wait is thar right?)

Huh has anyone ever written a Quidditch position as related to personality essay?

I may have jumped to conclusions too soon. They could well be figs from CoS rather than HBP, which would make the red-headed Beaters Fred and George.

I thought James was always a seeker, even in the books.

I think those are Fred and George.... Not sure though

Oh. Ok, maybe. I'd kind of assumed they were HBP figs seeing as they were new and all. But I did notice that the uniforms seemed to have gone back to the original style, so maybe it is supposed to be them from HP2. But why the Cho?

I was at the NY Comic Con this weekend where those figures were on display and they are Fred & George, not Ron & Ginny.

There was a separate Ron figurine (that I took pictures of even though I wasn't supposed to) and he's a keeper in that figure. The signage said not to take photos because it was not in final form (pending licensor approval). To me that means that the WB could say, "we're taking this out of the movie" and then the figure wouldn't be released at all.

*would be devastated at no Quidditch Ron in HBP!*

Thanks for the clarification about these figs though. I wonder why they have Cho there too? (assuming that is Cho of course!)

[identity profile] smoo-nyc.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure about Cho -- they're probably replacing some other character with her instead for the movie purposes since audiences (who may not have read the books but have seen the flicks) know her already.

(Kinda like how they made Marietta into Cho for OotP).

How can they be Fred and George for the movie? Fred and George left Hogwarts and even if they didn't "escape" like they did, they were 7th years in Order of the Phoenix.

I think these figs are for CoS not HBP. Don't ask me why; someone obviously thought it'd be a good idea to make figs from earlier films and release them now. O.o

[identity profile] lrthunder.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
OK, that makes more sense, although I also don't understand why they would use CoS figures either.

OMG you scared me. (And clearly I need to not get so worked up over something like this if it had been true, but I digress... ;))

I was alarmed too. I mean... who expects CoS toys at this stage?
