Anyone know what happened on the 5th of April? There is a HUGE spike in the stats on my website for that day. We're talking for eg: my celtic H/G pic, which usually averages 20 visitors a day getting 704 hits! I'd suspect that page had been hotlinked except that it was a site-wide increase; ALL the HP pages were like that, including my fanfic. Was I pimped somewhere? The increase has a H/G leaning, so maybe it was one of the H/G forums somewhere? *is very, very curious*

I have these earrings myself. (one of my faves) And, as you might have realised by now, I tend to use reference material I can lay my hands on easily! ;~P
I got them from http://www.past-times.com in the Celtic section. Ironically, they don't seem to be there at the moment. :~\ But they'll probably be back; they've been in their shop for years.

Does your site server let you see addresses where your site is linked from?

Geocities does. I know you're not with geocities, but if you're paying, you should be able to get that sort of information. If I see a weird spike on one of my pages or at my site, I always find it was linked to in a blog or in forums.

Either that, or I get paranoid that the LFL lawyers are on a new crusade and checking in. ;)

Not that I know of. But I'm not very good at the webby stuff, so who knows? Maybe I can? But I haven't seen the info or a link to such info listed in the freewebs stuff.

I'm chuckling at the thought of The Powers That Be checking out my site. I suppose they might have swung past, but really... me?? *snorts*

IF your server lets you see page info, you can see where te hotlink is coming from. That's how I find mine.

No, I don't think I can see individual info. It just gives me the number of hits for each page. Then again, there could be an obvious trick to it that I am completely missing. :~P I'm not very cluey about webby stuff.

And, yeah, there haven't been any H/G reccs for me in HP-daily recently. And besides, those would link to my LJ, not my website.

Wowsers! And yet kind of awesome. *hee* I'd be curious too! You have a paid account, right? If you look at your web server's Control Panel, they should either give you a way to look at your detailed stats, or you could start a support ticket and ask them how you find that info (they might just give you a link to the stats for you to log in to, to view).

But yeah, getting your stats info is the best thing ever! You can track where you website has been referred from, who's been linking to you...all that good stuff. :D
