Just come from glockgal's discussion about our artistic neuroses http://www.livejournal.com/users/glockgal/193409.html
and saw that my "Daddy's Girl" pic had gone up at the Sugarquill. Had to share this most EXCELLENT review with you all-

I personally disigree with this disgusting display of art. I mean thkis is ABSOLUTLY ridiculous! The "older Ginny" is WAY overexposed by the cleavage showing tanktop! This is a disgusting innaproproate picture that should be reported to the (DODIDA)...(pronoundced doidauh)department of innapropriate displays of art. I am now done and hope that next time...ginny is not wearing a pushup bra.

What can I say but BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

*mutters* pushup bra my arse. Obviously the reviewer has never breastfed a baby. *rolls eyes* And wtf is this 'dildo' dept.??? *sniggers*

wtf!!! oh godhgkajerhgaer *flings self around room from horridness of that comment*

From: [identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com

This . . . this is a joke right?

No? *headsdesk*
Oh god, cleavege! God forbid a woman should look the elast bit sexual EVER because don't you know why are all chaste keepers of morality with no sex drives what so ever.

And it's not like you piece was even about sex. I thought it was you know, love, couplhood, sharing a sweet moment etc. How does cleavage, a natural occuring phenomenon when most woman lean over, hurt any of this?

If I had money, right now I would commission you to draw a picture of Ginny breastfeeding, on the condition that the breasts were not covered at all by anything other than the baby -_-

O_o

That reviewer is on some serious crack. I absolutely adore that image and think Ginny's just lovely in it.

*giggles* Or maybe, if I wanted to be REALLY wicked, I could put the baby on one tit and Harry on the other?! *evil grin*

From: [identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com

Ha! That would be great!

By the way I googled that DODIA thingy (whatever those letters are) and the only thing of interest that came up was a page about woman seeking woman in Moracco . . .

There was a DODIDA.com but it seem sot be down.

Whatever that reviewer is smoking, I want some. *cracks up laughing*

I personally disigree..

'disigree'.

That's all you need to know right there, Leela.

That picture's gorgeous. This person is obviously suffering from cleavage envy. It's okay, sweetie. You'll grow into that training bra soon enough.

From: [identity profile] marionravenwood.livejournal.com

Good grief. I thought the picture was lovely, and not inappropriate at all.

I guess the reviewer meant "DOIDOA" for "department of innapropriate displays of art," but I've never heard of such a thing, and he/she can't spell anyway.

This is about as idiotic as that person complaining about the "cussing" in Ice.

That picture is awesome and that person either is extremely jealous or something as silly as she doesnt like the H/G pairing. She has got to be kidding me with that "review" or your artwork.

From: [identity profile] mawaridi.livejournal.com

AAHAHAHAHA. Oh my. Funniest. Review. Ever. This is completely mind-boggling. How anyone could find that image remotely offensive is beyond me. Just goes to show that some people want to be offended at every turn.

WTF??

From: [identity profile] shocolate.livejournal.com

Still, it was nice of them to tell us how to pronounce it!

When my milk first came in I tried to get everyone to poke my breasts - and feel how hard they were!!!

And a breastfeeding motehr should wear a polo neck that goes right down to her knees - don't show anything, and don't have easy feeing access, right!!

I second the nursing baby and Harry picture!!!

From: [identity profile] kaalee.livejournal.com

wtf?? *boggles at that comment*

That is all.

To my way of thinking, it seems unconscionable for someone who sees such a clearly intimate moment among a father, mother and child and whose attention is drawn away by the clothing the mother is wearing. Did this reviewer have ANYTHING to say about the tone of the piece, the absolutely glowing expression on the father's face as he lights up in delight upon bouncing his little one on his knee? Did this person comment at all on the kindness and love spilling from the mother's eyes? Was there any notice at all taken by the setting, the lovely, homey aspects of the cottage, the trees and sky outside? Apparently not. The only thing that garnered that reviewer's attention was the top the mother was wearing.

I have never read any Harry Potter books, nor seen the movies, nor do I intend to. But how someone could look at the beauty in that drawing and not see any of it at all is beyond me. It bespeaks a very narrow mind indeed.

What I reproduced above was the entirity of the review. :~P

Your picture is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

And look at this:

department of innapropriate displays of art

That is spelled wrong and I don't find anything like this on google.

Your search - "department of inappropriate displays of art" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

- Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
- Try different keywords.
- Try more general keywords.

What planet does this person come from? And if we find out, maybe Ginny will AK her for even suggesting that she's using a push-up bra???

Seriously though, I'm glad you're able to take this so well because I am offended and very put out on your behalf! While I can see the humor in this if we look at it as the person is definitely smoking something, the fact remains that their words were very hurtful. Cowards hide behind their computers...

I agree wholeheartedly with [livejournal.com profile] sue_parsons, it does bespeak a narrow mind.

That's a really weird-ass review, Leela. That's just... weird. I'm usually a thesaurus, but I can't even come up with anything else.

It's a great picture. I especially love Ginny in it.

Am wondering about this reviewer when the only thing they can comment on is boobage that is not particularly noteworthy or gapeworthy-- and I am nursing a baby as I type this one handed, so I can testify on the fact of increased boobage after pregnancy. What an odd thing to notice and comment on. On SQ too?
ext_40142: (Leela)

From: [identity profile] leelastarsky.livejournal.com

Yeah. There was another one who commented on Ginny's top in the closeup (which is really a neck and shoulders thing, so you can't even see her top!) and I'll admit I hadn't really thought too hard about her top at all. I certainly didn't consider it unsuitable or revealing!
In the fic she has just woken up from an afternoon nap after just moving into their house, hence her slightly disshevelled appearance and comfy clothes.
