Just over at theForce.net to see what they'd done for April Fools.

I take it the days of their fun headers and stuff are gone? They didn't seem to do anything for St Patrick's Day either. *sigh* Pity, their thematic headers were always so much fun.

Scrolling down I noticed a poll which asked which version of ROTS fans would go to - the standard one or the LONGER digital version.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Like I have the OPTION.

But at least I know I'll be MISSING something now.

Oh man, longer versions? Bugger! I am cursed. I have not even seen the trailer, and not for a lack of trying. I have hung around the picure theater on three different occasions waiting to see the trailer in the foyer, I have watched Tv when they are playing the other Star Wars Movies for maybe a preview there, and I have even tried to download it but it didnt work! I am obviously not meant to see that trailer.
By the way, did you see Hayden on Rove? Cant stand Rove but I happened to flick and see Hayden playing charades- He was a pretty good sport!
So tomorrow the embargo is lifted and the REAL merch hits the shelf. Kmart is having a sale on them too. Im going, I collect Padmes and Anakins.

I missed Hayden on Rove?! ARGH! BUGGER! When was he on??

I saw some of the toys in Target a few weeks back. Hayden/Darth particularly. I was all narky about it cos of SPOILER issues. :~P

Funny, I haven't been enthusiastic about this film at all - haven't been following the latest info or hunting down pics etc. As a result I am amazingly UNspoiled about it and, having got this far, would really like to remain UNspoiled.

The novelisation and comic landed in hubby's shop this week, but I refused them because I've been rather enjoying the notion that I might be able to make it to the cinema without knowing the whole thing beforehand.

You know, I considered that, but it seemed so non-descript. Plus I know there was a digital version of AOTC released that had a few seconds extra. So I'm really not surprised that George is upping that.
It's just that some of his fans don't have a choice of seeing it that way and it really feels like a slap in the face.

Ironic, considering he filmed the damn thing here in Australia, but we haven't got any cinemas with the means of showing it digitally. :~\

Oh, well, that sucks. The theaters around my parents', where I'll be on the 19th, aren't digital either, so guess I won't see it either.

Nope, no digital cinemas. And we only have 2 IMAXes - one here in Melbourne and one in Sydney. Actually, there might be one on the Gold Coast (near Brisbane QL) - WBros has Movie World there - but I'm not sure. I haven't heard of one there.
I hear about you guys getting to see Star Wars and Harry Potter at IMAX and am pea-green! They only show documentaries on ours. :~( (it's attached to the Museum here)

Theres an Imax at Southbank in Bris. The theatre at Movieworld is pitiful.
About Hayden on Rove, missed the interview but he was partnered with Corrine at charades and the stuff she had to act out was stuff a Canadian like him wouldnt know (like a fast bowler etc). He however had good ones, and executed them well and Corrine got them. He had Straw, crane, and erm others I cant remember, but it was really funny. They also had a really big preview of Ep 3, which i also missed.Anyway, those products you saw werent meant to be released- I wish our shops were as Lax! people are queing at Toys'R' Us in the U.S as we speak waiting for that stuff, probably dressed as Wookies!

They're advertising that new 'Robots' film as 'ALSO AT IMAX' - so perhaps it is, here in Melbourne? It would feel odd, though, having commercial films released on IMAX.

What am I saying - I saw Fantasia 2000 at IMAX here. It was great. So there is the capability for them to show it.

I wonder why they didn't put a digital cinema in ACMI? That's pretty new.

I've never been to IMAX myself. Gets a bit pricey when you're taking 4 kids @ $20+ea. Not to mention the adult tickets. ;~P Still, I imagine it would be cool for the big blockbusters.

Would the longer version come out on DVD? (I had no idea there would be a longer version).

And TFN has nothing up? They had a few classics up on past April Fool's day. Hmm... well I rarely bother with the site nowadays.

I rarely go to TFN at all anymore. They've done some beaut April Fools Day stuff in the past. I think it was the yr before last(?) they changed everything on the front page to 1980 - as though ESB was just coming out. Very cool. :~)

I guess the longer version would be on the DVD. I HOPE so.

They did something for St. Patty's day. The usual green banner with Guinness beer and Ewan in a hat. Maybe you missed it due to the time difference?

Why am I almost like defending them or something?
