Although, I have to admit this one wasn't taken by me.  *wishes her camera would take pics as pretty*  This gorgeous series of photos was taken over 2 days by my girlfriend, Carmel, in her garden.












Then it started raining so...Bath time!

They're relatively common, though not often seen. Mostly cos they're night birds. Commonly called owls, but they're actually related to nightjars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tawny_Frogmouth

We hear them a lot though. They make this really low, constant "hoom hoom hoom" noise

The photo in my avatar was taken by me, of one in a tree near my house. (we were walking round to Safeway next door and saw him. XD)

Carmel's photos are awesome cos they're day-time, there's 2 of them, and the birds are active. Usually, if you catch them during the day, they're busy being 'one with the tree', and are virtually invisible. XD
