Surprising but happy news! My son's iPod did a Lazarus this morning! Rose from the dead with, what's even MORE amazing - all his music intact. We left it untouched for 24hrs to give it one final chance before contacting Apple and, whether it was the threat of going back to meet its Maker or what, I don't know, but it's working now. (touchwood!)

(tentative) YAY!

Glad to hear your ipod worries are slightly lessened! You probably know this, but in case youdon't, if you have an ipod freeze, you can usually fix the thing by holding down the middle button and the play button for at least 6 seconds. You don't lose your data, it's basically like pushing the reset button. Just FYI.

Yeah, thanks, but we know about that trick. ;~) The only time it made any difference was when I tried it on iPod#2, and then it instigated the unhappy iPod face. Which, according to the iPod help site, meant it needed to go to the repair man. :~\

Nah, that's usually the first thing everybody tries, but in my case it didn't work, either. It really just needed to sit a few days.
