Who's planning on going to Prophesy 2007 in Toronto?

Should I try to save up and go? Or would that be a silly and ludicrous to do?

I could see OOTP in the USA before it even gets to Oz! But what if book 7 comes out that w/e? *flails*

I'm planning on going to Phoenix Rising. I mean -- New Orleans! :D

There won't be an Accio 2007. They are leaving it until 2008!!! Although there may be a ONE DAY event in 2007. That's what Ali Hewison emailed me.

Not silly and ludicrous IMHO... I'm going up to Lumos this year, myself. ;)

...of course, I have been called silly and ludicrous myself, on occasion.

Hahahaha! I was gonna say, 'yeah, but you're not going from Australia' and then I thought I better check your user info just in case, and we're practically neighbours!! LOL!

Good on you for going!! :~D

heh. It's not a big deal for me, I was from there originally. Got citizenship here (dual) about 6 weeks ago, actually. I've been here for almost 6 years.

I've been lurking through your journal and your Snape outfit is AWESOME!! :~D And the trip with the local group to the Arthur's Seat Maze looked great!! Am tempted to join, but time is an issue.

eh, we only meet once a month (or I wouldn't be going to many, myself... and I've missed a few due to work). Dates (at least tentative ones) get announced usually shortly after the previous month's meetup. Normally we just meet on a Saturday afternoon (2pm-ish) for a late lunch at Pancake Parlour either at the Jam Factory or in the city. Eat, chat for a couple hours... I usually get the 4:30 train back here, providing the mojo is with me. :P I have bad luck for missing trains, just ask Nat and Jen!

They haven't given the proper "where" info for the next one yet though, as I was told this one was meant to be another dressup outing. ;) But so far, it's set for July 1. Check it out if you're interested.

They've also got more pictures of our dressup outing to Arthur's Seat in the Photos section, I think. :)

Prophesy 2007

Wow, its interesting what sneaks up under your nose - even when you live in the city! I hadn't heard of this, but now my interest is peaked . . . I may just go. Thanks for pointing this out!

Hey, if Book 7 comes out that weekend, what BETTER place to be than with a bunch of other HP fans?

Besides, if it starts on Aug 2, and the book is released then, they'll probably release it on July 31, so you can pick up the book July 31, leave on a plane that night or early the next morning, and read it on the way there! How exciting!

Of course, if you make that big a trip, add a couple other places to go after the convention is over and make the most of it. :~D

Yeah, *whines* but the books always come out in Australia several hours ahead of the US! ;~P

Having it to read on the plane though - that would be awesome!

And, yes, I would have to visit a few people.

Are you still going? I was considering New Orleans, but... I don't cope well in heat and humidity. :~P

I am still going, yes -- we could get the plane together! I hate heat and humidity, too, but it's worth it for New Orleans :D Please consider it *hugs*

^^ That was me freaking out.

Because here's the thing. The dates for the openings in the US are as follows:
-The book comes out 07/07/07 (go figure.)
-The movie? July 13. As in, six days later.

Those two/three weeks will be the most anticipated weeks of my life. (Which isn't sad at all.) I live right by D.C. and the Baltimore Inner Harbor, and although I usually go to the local Barnes and Noble for Harry Potter Night, I'm considering going all-out and taking a trip south with the big fans.

I don't really know what this has to do with anything besides me venting my excitement, but hey, if you come to the US for OotP, you may as well come the week before to pick up the book and stay for the revelry.

Um, I'm pretty sure that 070707 date for the book release is still wishful thinking on the part of fandom. It would be a perfect date though. And, honestly, I'd rather be in Australia for that, simply because we get it at midnight GMT, which is a lovely civilised 9am here. ;~) USA gets it at midnight local time, which is several hours later. ;~) Petty, I know, but those few hours can mean the difference between being spoiled or not.
Personally, I was really hoping for a 070707 release for book 7, but when WB announced 130707 for the OotP movie release... well I really doubt they'd release them that close together. :~\ We'll see I guess. :~)
