Er, I mean the newscasts about the books - I keep seeing the comparisons between Stephenie Meyers work to JKR's and ... they're totally different. (And I'm biased - I don't think they're nearly as good.)
I think they mean that the popularity and the fan followings are similar, not the books themselves. Twilight and HP are WORLDS apart. As much as I love Twilight and Edward and Bella, I think the HP series is much more tricky with hidden secrets and such. More details to get lost in, and that is difficult to keep up for seven books. But I stick with Twilight for the romance! Sure there is romance in HP, but not to the point where Edward is slinging her leg over his hip. SWOON! So, personally, I can love both on different levels for different reasons.

LOL! Hee - see, I just get the feeling that the appeals are a bit different - the Twilight books are more appealing to romance lovers where HP has a broader appeal. Or so it seems to me.
Plus, I full confess I'm very mixed on SM's work. *meeps*
I agree. I hate it just because to me it's just a way to get people to watch a broadcast. "Find out which new novel is giving Harry Potter a run for his money!" Ha ha, but good in this case because more people see the art!
Potter has practically touched every corner of the world, quite a feat in and of itself. It makes it seem less so with easy comparisons such as this.
Wow, that's awesome! I only just recently heard about these books and haven't read them, but I recognized your style in the artwork the moment it appeared in the background. Did they contact you about using your artwork for this report?
Hey There Leela, I'm taking over for Anita on the HP_art_Project and I just wanted to know if you still wanted to be part of it. I know you've sent one chapter art to Anita (wBook 1 Chapter 1, which I'll need to get from her) however you are also signed up for Chapter 5 - An Excess of Phlegm
I wanted ot know if you still wnated to do the art for that. To give you an idea of how much time you'd have to do a new work, at this time, I'm looking at the art deadline being around June.
Hi Ani! I've just got home (back in Australia)! Yep, I definitely still want to be a part of this. Deadline June 2008? Feel free to email me leelastarsky [at] gmail [dot] com. :~)
OMG, I'm flailing like mad here Kate because I think it was last Thursday or Friday, that exact story was on the 5 o'clock channel ten news at the end and I though 'Gee, that artwork looks like Kate's' and OMG it IS! *jumps up and down with exitement*
