Here's a vid of our visiting galahs (whom we've now named Molly and Arthur), but also listen to Pippin chattering in the background. You'll hear him say, "Where's my Annie? Gone to school!" and sing the 'Happy, happy, joy, joy' song, as well as "Luna" "beautiful, beautiful" "Hello!" and lots of kissy noises. :~)
Because Pippin loves the camera so much, it's been impossible to catch him talking with it!  So here, we're focussed on something else completely and you get to hear some of his chatter.   XD

oh how cool - they are so cute
my hubby and I have a thing for wild parrots
and I loved listening to your budgie chatter in the background. We used to have one that would say a couple words. We had him about 5 years, but sadly gone now:( miss him.
couple pics of him and our kitty to show off interspecies dating:

Omygoodness! Look at that! The cat never tried to eat the budgie, I take it? ;~P

My first budgie (when I was c20yrs) only lived about 5-6yrs, and I still get sad about him. He was my first baby! He taught me that something so small can love much bigger than I'd ever imagined.

Yeah we loved our little budgie. We also loved Gizmo (photo cat), he was extremely gentle and never went after the bird. In fact the budgie would chew on his fur and pull his whiskers and Giz would merely look to us for help. Giz was also a bit clumsy - ever heard of a clumsy cat? He'd run into things, roll off windowsils, trip while walking along a fence...

Oh, gosh, yes! We had the clumsiest cat! She died just recently, but was the funniest thing. She couldn't jump up onto a bench, was forever getting stood on cos she was all black and would lie in the middle of the hallway in the dark. We called her a 'clump of a lump' because stealth was foreign to her and she was as ungraceful as it is possible for a cat to get. LOL.

Girls are not great talkers, I've heard. But then I've also heard (and experienced!) that the females are much nastier and bite WAY harder. But our Luna is the sweetest, most gentle budgie I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She doesn't 'talk,' but she has started imitating the magpies that visit, as well as Pippin. So there's a possibility she'll copy some of his 'language' by accident! ;~)

yeah i heard as well the girls don't talk that much ^^

and yeah, she can bite quite hard when she gets the chance (or when my stepfather sticks his finger through the bars o.O)

sad thing is, when you buy them young, you can't see what it is... boy or girl... we first thought mine was a boy because the nose cap was first blue, but than turned brown.

stupid thing is... she has a boy's name -_-

Im thinking about getting another one, which is older, male, and tamer. So she might learn from his behaviour.

lol i didn't know the diffrence and named my boy keet "Pearl" because of the sting of dots around his neck
lol he's "pearly whirly bird" XP

Aww, poor baby. Is he very old? I taught my first budgie to talk by taking him into my bedroom every night (back when I was single!) and talking to him in the dark (so there were no distractions for him). He learnt to talk really quickly.

I did a similar thing with Pippin, except I cheated and recorded myself saying 'pretty boy!' and put it on my iPod. Then played it to him overnight for several nights, very low. Once he got 'pretty boy' everything else he's just picked up himself! :~)

i don't know how old he is, but he's not THAT old... maybe 2 or 3 years? He lives outside on the porch, and my mom doesn't want him in the room... oh well lol

I loves him any ways. :/

The galahs are so pretty! And wow - Pippin singing Happy Happy Joy Joy has just made my day. He is sooo cute! :D

My Pippin doesn't talk - I think having him from the start with another parakeet meant he didn't pay enough attention - but I've had two in the past that did. It's adorable. ^.^

I'm so glad his Happy Happy Joy Joy made your day! It always makes me happy. I've yet to capture it on video, but it's totally hysterical when he gets 'excited' as boy budgies do, and gets friendly with our hand...and, right at the climax, squeals "Happy Happy Joy Joy! Happy Happy Joy Joy! Happy Happy Joy Joy Joooooooooooooyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" *snigger*
